Rescue Adoption and Fundraiser Event
Saturday, February 15, 2014 Bass Pro Shops
Senior Spaniel Rescue, Inc. is excited to announce the third annual Find Your Furry Valentine event, Saturday, February 15, 2014 at Bass Pro Shops. Find Your Furry Valentine provides an incredible and much needed opportunity for local rescue organizations to work together to raise awareness, funds and ultimately homes for needy animals in our Las Vegas community.
"Find Your Furry Valentine is a great community event for the entire family while providing an opportunity to raise critical funds for local rescues. If you are looking for a new fury family member, Find Your Furry Valentine allows prospective adopters to meet available pets in our community and begin the placement process. And if your four legged family is complete, the event features pet focused products and services" said Mary Sanders, President of the Senior Spaniel Rescue.
All event funds stay in the community and aid in sustaining the medical needs of Las Vegas fostered animals, while increasing awareness of the need to adopt homeless dogs, cats, pigs and donkeys during the brutal winter months when adoption rates and fundraising is lower.
The event will again be held in the Bass Pro Shops parking lot, adjacent to the Silverton Hotel and Casino, and will feature pet friendly booths, crafts, raffles and prizes. The event will also feature animal demonstrations and live local entertainment. Local food trucks will also be on hand for lunch and snacks.
Senior Spaniel Rescue, Inc.'s mission is to place furry best friends with families that will love them unconditionally. The Senior Spaniel Rescue was formed by a group of local Springer lovers in February 2007 to help homeless and discarded older Springer Spaniels find new homes. It is an all-volunteer organization fully sponsored and supported through donations, craft sales and local veterinary donations of time and services. In addition, Senior Spaniel Rescue saw the need and organized the Las Vegas Cocker Rescue, which works tirelessly to save Cocker Spaniels, the Springers' cousins. Unfortunately people often neglect older Spaniels, forgetting that they have many years of love and life to share with their humans. The Senior Spaniel Rescue works to rescue and re-home Springers in NV, AZ, CA, UT, and NM. In 2011 and 2012, 16 senior Spaniels were re-homed each year. The average cost of medical care provided by SSRI is around $600 per dog.
Senior Spaniel Rescue, Inc.
Senior Spaniel Rescue, Inc. fosters and re-homes older English Springer Spaniels ages 7 and older and provides the medical care for those in foster care. Senior Spaniel Rescue, Inc. a 501C3 non-profit corporation was formed in 2007 by a group of Springer lovers who saw a need for older Springers to have a second chance at life. This rescue focuses mainly on the Las Vegas area but in 2011 also rescued older Springers from New Mexico, Arizona and Utah. SSRI has kept the adoption fee for these older dogs low while paying for medical treatment and surgeries to make the dogs more adoptable. This means fund raising events and donations support the needs of these older dogs. Senior Spaniel Rescue, Inc. has helped two other rescues start their rescue organizations and supports English Springer Rescue America (national rescue). SSRI members have also helped with the foster and marketing of other dogs from other, non-Spaniel rescues. SSRI has a philosophy of re-homing hunting dogs and family pets.
Senior Spaniel Rescue, Inc. will manage the event including marketing to rescues and vendors, placement of rescues and vendors, communication to rescues and vendors about insurance requirements and reservation confirmation, acceptance of applications, insurance documents and funds and the onsite coordination at the event.

will be held on Saturday, February 15, 2014 at Bass Pro Shops as the third annual event for dog, cat and other rescues to present their animals to the public for adoption and to raise funds for the year from craft sales and donations. To pay for the costs of this event, we need your help as a sponsor.
In winter months, there are no other major Las Vegas dog/cat events for rescues to raise funds and promote their animals for adoption. With so many animals coming from foreclosures and financial struggling owners and desert abandonment, the Las Vegas rescuers are overwhelmed with saving dogs and paying for their medical needs.
